ABOUT JOHN G. GROMOWSKY
John G. Gromowsky is a criminal defense lawyer who has been helping people charged with crimes in federal and state courts since opening The Gromowsky Law Firm, LLC in March 2005. As a former Jackson County, Missouri prosecutor, John has the experience on both sides of the courtroom necessary to ensure you get the best possible representation.
Prior to becoming a criminal defense attorney, John graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served as an infantry officer in the United States Army. He is a graduate of the Army's Ranger School and a trained paratrooper. John also graduated from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. While there, John's criminal law and procedure professor chose him to serve as a research and writing assistant. Also while in law school, John interned in the Special Prosecutions Bureau of the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, one of the largest prosecutors offices in the country. The state's attorney's office offered John a job upon graduation, but he decided to return to Kansas City instead, taking a position as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable John O'Malley in the Circuit Court of Jackson County.
John participates in local professional activities, including twice being selected as the chairman of the Criminal Law Committee of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. John works alongside judges and other experienced attorneys as an instructor/evaluator in a program that teaches new attorneys how to present a case to a jury.
John is married and has three daughters, whom he coaches in basketball, soccer, and softball. John is also active at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and its parish school, serving in positions in the Knights of Columbus, on the school board, and on the athletic committee.
